Motorist Flagged Down, Shot in Hand
NEWBURY PARK — A motorist was shot in the hand by a pedestrian who flagged him down on a street in Newbury Park on Friday night, Ventura County sheriff’s deputies said.
Daniel Andrew McFall, 20, of Louisiana, was traveling on Potrero Road in the Long Grade area when he turned a corner and spotted a man waving his arms for him to stop.
Once he pulled over and leaned out of the driver’s window, McFall saw that the pedestrian was holding a revolver. As he started to drive off, McFall was shot in the hand.
McFall drove himself to Los Robles Hospital, where he was treated for a gunshot wound. Police said the shooting is not gang-related and an investigation is continuing.
