18 Whites Injured in S. Africa Bombing
JOHANNESBURG, South Africa — At least 18 whites were injured Thursday by a bomb explosion in a crowded restaurant. Police suspected the attack was politically motivated, the second in a week.
The bombing late Thursday in Queenstown was about 60 miles from King William’s Town, where four whites were killed Saturday in a gun and hand grenade attack at a country club.
A radical black nationalist group, the Azanian People’s Liberation Army, claimed responsibility for Saturday’s attack and said it would step up a campaign against white targets. No one claimed responsibility for Thursday’s bombing.
