Streisand on AIDS
During a night of arrogant back-patting and obnoxious rhetoric, politically correct Hollywood stars took time out from their busy schedules to collect a few million for AIDS research, by doing nothing more strenuous than sitting on their behinds and risking a sprained wrist while writing a check. Your coverage included Barbra Streisand’s mug on the front page, articles in Calendar and View (who wore what) and even Streisand’s rantings in Opinion.
For two weekends in November, 25,000 politically incorrect Orange County Boy Scouts, Cub Scouts, their leaders and others took time out of their busy schedules to walk door-to-door collecting 375,200 pounds of food for the needy. Times coverage: Page 3 of the Orange County section.
