Chaplin Deja Vu: “Chaplin,” Richard Attenborough’s new film about legendary actor-director Charlie Chaplin, will have a special screening Friday at 7:30 p.m. in the downtown Los Angeles Theater where Chaplin’s “City Lights” was the opening attraction in 1931. Chaplin also put up money to help complete the theater, the last movie palace built in Los Angeles. Robert Downey Jr., who stars in the new film, is scheduled to attend Friday’s screening, along with others associated with the production.
