An assault charge was withdrawn against Phil Esposito, president and general manager of the NHL’s Tampa Bay Lightning.
The charge stemmed from a confrontation Oct. 15 between Esposito and Bob McKenzie, columnist with the Toronto Star.
McKenzie asked the Crown to drop the charges after Esposito apologized last month.
