LA MESA : Man Arrested in Phone Threat Case
- Share via
FBI agents Tuesday arrested Robert Edward McCullough of La Mesa in connection with several telephone threats made last month to NBC news reporter Dawn Fratangelo in New York, an FBI spokesman said.
McCullough was charged in a federal warrant, issued by a U.S. District Court in New York, with interstate transmission of a threat to commit bodily harm. Fratangelo was formerly a reporter for Channel 8 in San Diego, where she first encountered McCullough in 1985 when interviewing him, an affidavit issued by the FBI stated. Fratangelo received numerous threats from McCullough in mid-November, the affidavit said.
McCullough was in the Metropolitan Correctional Center downtown pending a scheduled arraignment today before a U.S. magistrate.
