Australians Wally Masur and Mark Kratzmann reached the semifinals of the ATP Tour World Doubles Championships in Johannesburg, South Africa, by upsetting second-seeded Jim Grabb and Richey Reneberg, 4-6, 7-6 (7-5), 6-4. Defending champions Anders Jarryd and John Fitzgerald also advanced with a 6-2, 6-3 victory over Steve DeVries and Dave MacPherson.
