Los Alamitos running back Marchant Wright rushed for 98 of his 101 yards and scored two touchdowns in the Griffins’ 48-16 victory over Fountain Valley.

Los Alamitos’ Tim Carey threw for 213 yards, moving into fifth on Orange County’s single-season passing yardage chart with 2,921, and needs only 172 next week to surpass Newport Harbor’s Shane Foley (3,092).
COMING HOME
Steve Buechele, Chicago Cub third baseman, attended his first Servite game in 10 years Friday night when the Friars met Muir in the Division II quarterfinals.
Buechele, who lives in Arlington, Tex., with his wife and two children, said he was reunited with Servite Coach Larry Toner last summer at Dodger Stadium.
“He brought his whole family out to watch me play, and I told him if he got to the playoffs, I’d come out and watch his team during the Thanksgiving weekend while I was in town visiting my parents.”
