Countywide : Driver Held in Head-On Collision
A Santa Paula man was arrested at Santa Paula Memorial Hospital on Friday on suspicion of felony drunk driving, one day after his car collided head-on on California 126 with another car carrying an Oxnard family, a Highway Patrol spokeswoman said.
Francisco Gonzalez, 36, of Santa Paula was in stable condition Friday in the intensive care unit.
Gonzalez was driving the wrong way on the four-lane road west of Fillmore when the 5:50 p.m. Thursday accident occurred.
Rocina Clark, 43, and Michael Clark, 44, both of Oxnard, were in satisfactory condition Friday at Santa Paula Memorial Hospital, a nursing supervisor said. Their two teen-age daughters were treated for minor injuries and released.
In the 24-hour holiday period that ended Friday morning at 6 a.m., the California Highway Patrol arrested 11 people in Ventura County on suspicion of drunk driving, a spokeswoman said.
