Mt. San Antonio 2, Moorpark 1 (OT)--The second-seeded Mounties (12-0-4) scored in overtime to advance to the championship match of the Southern California regional.
The Raiders (12-5-6) took a 1-0 lead in the first half on Cara Tubbs’ goal.
MEN’S BASKETBALL
Cal Lutheran 76, Menlo 62--Jared Byrne scored 19 points to lead the Kingsmen (1-1) to the consolation championship of the Menlo tournament.
Ventura 82, West Hills 66--Calvin Curry scored 21 points to lead the Pirates in a nonconference game at home. Teammate Stephane Brown added 18 points and Alfred Kennedy scored 16.
Moorpark 97, Irvine Valley 90--Elijah Maxey scored a game-high 24 points in less than 17 minutes to lead the host Raiders in a nonconference game.
Hancock 74, Oxnard 66--The Condors (2-2) made only 11 of 25 free-throw attempts in a nonconference loss in Santa Maria. Steve Amar paced Oxnard with 14 points and Art Wallace added 13.
Rancho Santiago 92, Glendale 76--Kenny Collins scored 17 points and teammate Mike Macchia added 16 in a consolation-round loss in the Rancho Santiago tournament.
WOMEN’S BASKETBALL
Canyons 55, Palomar 51--Lisa Hilton made three three-point shots late in the second half to lead the Cougars (2-1) in a semifinal game of the Mt. San Jacinto tournament. With Canyons ahead, 53-51, with 20 seconds to play, Terra Bruessel made two foul shots to seal the victory.
Kate Stoll led Canyons with 18 points.
Moorpark 60, San Diego Mesa 57--Tamara Pacheco scored 17 of her 25 points in the second half to help the Raiders (3-2) to a comeback victory in the consolation final of the Long Beach tournament.
Ventura 73, Mt. San Antonio 35--Four Ventura players scored in double figures to pace a nonconference rout over the visiting Mounties.
Nicole Ellis led the way with 20 points.
