In another Channel League game:
San Marcos 29, Oxnard 13--Senior running back Steve Guzman rushed for 216 yards in 37 carries and scored three touchdowns to lead the Royals to the league title at Oxnard.
Guzman rolled up 139 yards by halftime, and his touchdown runs of one and three yards gave San Marcos (8-2, 6-1) a 17-7 lead.
Guzman carried nine times on the opening 12-play drive of the third quarter and his 11-yard touchdown run gave the Royals a commanding 29-7 lead.
Oxnard (5-5, 2-5) took its only lead of the game, 7-3, late in the first quarter as senior running back Adrian Wilson’s one-yard touchdown run capped a 14-play, 65-yard drive.
Wilson scored the other Yellowjacket touchdown on a seven-yard pass from quarterback Larry Bumpus with 10 seconds left.
Senior running back Lloyd Mix led the Oxnard rushing attack with 93 yards in 14 carries.
San Marcos rolled up 395 yards.
