The owner of a Thousand Oaks service station was robbed of about $7,000 Thursday night as she left the business, sheriff’s investigators said.
Mrudula Trivedi, 52, owner of Express Smog at 600 N. Moorpark Road, closed the station at 10 p.m. and was walking to her car when a man approached her, investigators said. The man asked if the station was closed and then grabbed a bag Trivedi was carrying that contained about $7,000, they said.
The man fled on foot, and investigators were unable to find him.
“For a few minutes I didn’t know what had happened,” Trivedi said Friday. “Then I said, ‘Oh, he’s taking all my money.’ I’m just scared to death right now.”
The Thousand Oaks Crime Stoppers will pay a reward of up to $1,000 for information on the crime. Tips can be relayed anonymously by calling 494-8255 or 656-1500.
