El Toro Pitcher Decides to Play at Santa Clara
El Toro High School pitcher Marc Ver Wayne has committed to play baseball next season at Santa Clara, and plans to sign a letter of intent Wednesday.
Ver Wayne, a 6-foot-3 right-hander, also was considering USC, UCLA and the University of San Diego. He was 17-7 with a 2.32 earned-run average during the last two seasons.
