A Magazine That Readers May Relish
OAK BROOK, Ill. — Customers munching on McRibs or Egg McMuffins at some McDonald’s restaurants can also read “McMagazine.”
The company is testing McMag at outlets in Orlando, Fla., Denver, Milwaukee, Portland, Ore., Newburgh, N.Y., and Chicago’s western suburbs.
The magazine, geared to parents and children, includes articles on health, money and leisure. The October issue, the second published this year, is 42 pages.
The company hopes that ad revenue will pay publishing costs. Advertisers range from Mattel to Coca-Cola to Polaroid. Excess ad revenue will go to Ronald McDonald children’s charities.
