DOUBLE LOSS: La Palma husband-and-wife City Council candidates Richard and Jacklyn Polis placed dead last out of six candidates going after three open seats Tuesday. Local voters don’t seem to like couples on the ballot. . . . In 1986, four pairs of husbands and wives ran for local school board seats and all of them finished last. Tuesday, a Placentia couple, Linda and Raymond Smith, also were on the ballot. Neither finished last, but they didn’t get any of the three open seats either.
