Politicians Out of Touch
Recently, a certain county official defended his salary by saying he worked harder than some others who make that much. I’d like for him to drive by (in his automobile that taxpayers give him $6,000 a year for) and look at the hundreds of people bent over in the agriculture fields; or to think of the men and women who have to wear a gun each day to defend and protect him; or those who risk their lives if his house catches fire, or to the ones who are now asking for a living wage so they can teach our children.
Wouldn’t it be nice for all of those in government positions to accept jobs in order to be an asset to and for the people and not for their own betterment? It seems they’ve all lost perspective.
