SAN FERNANDO VALLEY : Grant to Aid Asian Senior Citizens
The Little Tokyo Service Center has been awarded a $40,000 grant to improve services to elderly Asian-Pacific residents of the San Fernando Valley.
Los Angeles County Supervisor Ed Edelman, whose office awarded the community development block grant, said the award evolved from a study of unmet needs recently completed by the center.
The new program will connect Asian-Pacific elderly in the Valley with existing services for seniors, provide translation for government agencies and community groups and help build a better network of services.
