Alpine Man Wins Poker Tourney

LAS VEGAS — An Alpine casino manager has captured first place in the “ace-to-five-low-draw” event of the Hall of Fame Poker Tournament at Binion’s Horseshoe Hotel & Casino here.
James Brown, 57, a manager at the Viejas Casino in Alpine, won the $34,800 first prize plus a $5,000 gold watch. He won from among a field of 58 players Saturday.
Eskimo Clark, 45, of Las Vegas placed second, winning $20,010. Third place went to another Las Vegan, Dave Rabbi, a 37-year-old professional card player who won $10,440.
The tournament continues through Nov. 12.
