Cocaine Found in Fiberglass Doghouses

Two men were arrested Monday after they attempted to smuggle about 15 pounds of cocaine molded into fiberglass doghouses into the United States, authorities said.
FBI agents said the plastic that makes up the kennels was chemically broken down and the cocaine mixed in, then refabricated. After delivery the plastic is again broken down and the drug extracted.
FBI spokesman John Hoos said neither field testing nor drug-sniffing dogs could detect the drug once it was refabricated in the plastic. He would not disclose how agents found the cocaine. Nor would he identify the suspects, where they were arrested or where they were jailed.
He said it was the first time law enforcement has encountered such advanced technology in drug smuggling.
