Allan J. Toomer was named senior vice president for network products at Tekelec, a Calabasas-based manufacturer of telecommunications testing equipment.
Toomer succeeds Fred Tinch, who left the post for health reasons. Tinch will continue as vice president and director of technical marketing. Toomer previously spent 19 years in various executive positions at Northern Telecom Ltd., a Canadian supplier of communications systems.
