Chicago Traders Seek Broader Access: Negotiations are underway to allow the Chicago Board of Trade access to the Cincinnati Stock Exchange’s National Securities Trading System. Under a plan worked out by the two sides, CBOT members would access the Cincinnati exchange through its “Project A” trading system, which was approved last week by the U.S. Commodity Futures Trading Commission. William O’Connor, chairman of the Chicago exchange, said access to the Cincinnati system would provide CBOT members “a tremendous trading opportunity” and broaden their range of investment alternatives.
