Born at the Pony: The legendary club in Asbury Park, N.J., that gave rocker Bruce Springsteen his start is making a comeback. The Stone Pony reopened to the public this weekend after a year of bankruptcy-enforced silence. Opening night featured British rock group Carter the Unstoppable Sex Machine. A series of lawsuits stemming from auto accidents involving people who allegedly got drunk at the club forced the Pony into bankruptcy. At one time, Springsteen and the E Street Band, Southside Johnny and the Asbury Jukes and Jon Bon Jovi were club regulars.
