Paris Rental
Last year, The Times published an article by Lois Langley on renting an apartment in Paris (“Two Ways to Find a Paris Vacation Apartment,” March 10, 1991). My wife and I recently decided to take Langley’s advice. This past August, we reserved an apartment on the Left Bank for two weeks, from the agency Langley chose, Paris Connection in Ft. Lauderdale, Fla.
The experience was everything the article described. Jim Buongiorne, who owns Paris Connection and operates out of Paris, greeted our taxi when we arrived at the apartment. He checked the meter and told us how much to pay the driver. Our apartment was clean, completely furnished and well-stocked, with a baguette, coffee, orange juice and other food, along with maps and travel literature.
It turned out to be one of our best vacations ever, and the apartment made all the difference. For two wonderful weeks, we were residents, not tourists--and we ended up paying less for the four-room apartment than a hotel room would have cost.
