Faced with the threat of a lawsuit, the University of Massachusetts agreed to reinstate three women’s sports teams that were dropped over the past three years.
Students hired attorney Patricia Flannery after the school dropped women’s tennis this spring, even though the players raised enough in private donations to cover the cost of fielding the team and their coach offered to work for $1,000.
