Play Misty for me: Most coaches agree that Newport Harbor sophomore Misty May will be a great college volleyball player someday. But a coach at a top 10 Division I program disagrees--not on the talent, but the time frame.
“We’ll take her right now ,” the coach said. “She could play for us right now. She’s one of the best I’ve seen.”
May, a 5-foot-10 outside hitter, had 35 kills three weeks ago in a five-game loss to Sea View League rival Corona del Mar, the nation’s top-ranked team. The two teams meet again Tuesday night at Newport Harbor.
