CYPRESS : Golf Classic Raises $18,000 for Scholars
More than $18,000 was raised for student scholarships at the annual Cypress College Golf Classic.
The event, held at the Anaheim Hills Golf Course, beat last year’s fund-raising totals by several hundred dollars, organizers said.
“It was our most successful tournament ever,” said Don Bedard, director of the Cypress College Foundation. “I’m very grateful to everybody who participated to be able to report such a high level of financial success, especially during a recession.”
Several players brought home prizes from this year’s event, which was sponsored by PacifiCare, including Fred Gonzalez who took home men’s low gross honors and Kristen Perry who came in as the women’s low gross winner.
The Cypress College Foundation is a nonprofit organization that raises money for scholarships and other student services.
