Computer Seminars: Graphix Zone, an Irvine computer graphics services company, will tour eight cities nationwide to tout the benefits of multimedia computing, which combines sound, graphics and video technologies to beef up personal computers.
The series of seminars, dubbed “Pumped on Multimedia,” is targeted to corporate PC users and small businesses. The event will showcase products from Microsoft Corp., Sony Corp., Toshiba Corp. and others.
“Professionals are interested in exploring how emerging multimedia technologies can help them communicate better,” said Angela Aber, vice president of Graphix Zone.
The seminars will begin Oct. 27 in Los Angeles, San Francisco, Seattle, Chicago, Dallas, Atlanta, Washington and New York. Multimedia computer equipment is expected to be a $3.3-billion market in 1997, according to Intelligence Research Corp., a market research firm in Mountain View.
