3-D Systems Narrows Losses in 3rd Quarter

3-D Systems Inc. narrowed its losses in the third quarter with the help of a 62% jump in sales.
In the quarter that ended Sept. 25, the company lost $544,177 compared with a year-earlier loss of $3.23 million, and its sales climbed to $6.93 million from $4.28 million.
3-D Systems is the Canadian holding company of 3D Systems Inc., a Valencia maker of equipment that uses a computer, laser and chemicals to rapidly make plastic-like models of industrial and consumer products in the prototype stage.
For the first nine months of 1992, 3-D Systems lost $1.28 million, compared with a loss of $6.55 million a year earlier, and its nine-month sales rose 34%, to $19.9 million from $14.8 million.
