Santa Monica : Jane Austen Society to Meet

The Jane Austen Society of North America will hold its annual conference this weekend in Santa Monica.
The three-day conference will include seminars on the 19th-Century English novelist, a performance of a play she enjoyed and a fashion show featuring costumes from the BBC productions of “Pride and Prejudice” and “Sense and Sensibility.”
Writer Nigel Nicolson, whose books include “The World of Jane Austen,” will be a special guest speaker.
The conference begins Friday night and continues through Sunday at the Miramar Sheraton Hotel in Santa Monica.
