Saloon Goes Country: The Disneyland Hotel, attempting to cash in on the public’s sudden thirst for country music, has opened a Neon Cactus saloon at the resort.
The lounge, which takes the place of Sgt. Preston’s Yukon Saloon, will feature country bands and Western dancing. For the uninitiated, there will be free dance lessons before the house band, the Fort Worth Cats, takes the stage Wednesdays through Sundays at 9 p.m.
On some nights the saloon will present “Cowboy Karaoke” in which guests can bellow their favorite country hits. Maybe that’s why wranglers prefer the company of cows to the company of people . . . or why they are required to check their six-shooters at the door.
