P&G; in Joint Venture With Chile Company: Procter & Gamble Co. said it has formed a partnership with Compania Manufacturera de Papeles Y Cartones to market disposable diapers and feminine pads in Chile, Argentina, Paraguay, Uruguay and Bolivia. “This joint venture is one more step in expanding our diaper and feminine protection products business worldwide,” said John Pepper, P&G;’s president. CMPC is a publicly held company headquartered in Santiago, Chile. It had sales of $582 million in 1991. Procter & Gamble makes and markets a wide range of consumer products, including foods, beverages, cleansing and grooming products. It had sales of $29.4 billion last year.
