USC : $600,000 Raised for Korean Library
The Friends of the USC Korean Heritage Library celebrated the completion of a seven-year fund-raising campaign and the installation of two leaders at the group’s annual dinner Tuesday. .
The organization, founded in 1985, has raised more than $600,000 to support the Korean Heritage Library, said Peter Lyman, dean of the USC libraries.
Wayne S. Kim, a founding member of the Friends and president of an engineering company, and Sarah Kim, president of a communications firm and an author, will be chairman and chairwoman of the group.
In addition to newspapers and monographs on contemporary Korean topics, the library has a large collection of materials on the Korean independence movement of the early 1900s.
