Music for the Masses: Tenor Luciano Pavarotti will be performing tonight in an 8,000-seat Tel Aviv basketball stadium, but his golden tones also will be piped to the city’s main square, which can hold more than 200,000. Pavarotti decided to relay the performance to a giant screen in the square to counter complaints that his concert with Zubin Mehta and the Israel Philharmonic Orchestra is overpriced. Tickets were priced at $90 to $145.
