El Camino Defeats Fullerton
Tony DaCosta rushed for two touchdowns to help El Camino to a 40-9 victory over Fullerton in a Mission Conference football game Saturday in front of about 3,000 at Fullerton.
El Camino led at the half, 16-9, but scored two touchdowns in the third quarter to take a 30-9 lead. Michael Phillips and DaCosta scored on one-yard runs in the quarter. Ivan Wilson scored on a seven-yard run in the fourth quarter for El Camino (2-0), which is ranked ninth in the J.C. Grid-Wire poll.
El Camino plays host to Saddleback, the top-ranked team in the nation, next Saturday at 7 p.m.
Fullerton (0-2) has lost the first two games of the season for the first time since 1964.
