School Elections
I am writing to comment on Claudia Pearce’s (Sept. 20) commentary about La Mesa-Spring Valley school board member Cheryl Jones. I find it shocking and outrageous that a person with extremist values such as hers is being allowed to make policy regarding my children’s education. Believing people have a “right” to bear arms to defend themselves from an overly aggressive government sounds eerily similar to the justification used by the Bloods, Crips and the other street gangs when asked why they shoot at the cops.
What kind of mentality is this for a public school board member? I would hope Mrs. Jones would continue to stay home and home-school her children, thus preventing infecting the rest of the community with such irresponsible babble.
