Walnut : Longer City Office Hours
City offices will be open to the public for an extra four hours per week during a six-month trial period beginning in November.
The extended hours are the result of a revised work schedule for city employees approved by the City Council last week.
Under the pilot program, which will allow employees to work 80 hours over nine days instead of the usual 10, City Hall and the Maintenance/Recreation Services office will expand their hours to 7:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Monday through Thursday. Current hours are 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Public hours for Friday will remain unchanged.
