South Gate 17, Fremont 0--South Gate’s defense held Fremont quarterback William Yates to 42 yards passing with an interception in a nonconference game at South Gate.
South Gate running back Smiley Lopez, who rushed for 53 yards on 13 yards, opened the scoring with a four-yard touchdown run and also grabbed an interception.
