Investor Group Buys Stake in Day Runner: An investors’ group including FMR Corp. and Fidelity International Inc. now holds a 5.38% stake in Day Runner Inc., the Fullerton maker of personal organizer products. The group bought 116,000 shares of Day Runner between July 14 and Sept. 11 at prices ranging from $12 to $16.63 per share, according to a filing with the Securities and Exchange Commission. The group’s 279,000 shares are worth about $4.5 million. Shares of Day Runner closed Friday at $16.25, up $1.00 in trading on the NASDAQ exchange. Day Runner had profits of $833,000 in the first six months of 1992 on sales of $27.9 million.
