BASEBALL DAILY REPORT : DODGERS : Davis Has Surgery on Shoulder, Hand
Eric Davis underwent successful hand and shoulder surgery and should be ready to resume baseball activities as soon as December, according to doctors.
Ralph Gambardella performed a resection on Davis’ left shoulder, removing part of the bone, and Norman Zemel removed a bone chip from Davis’ left wrist and repaired a partial ligament tear in Davis’ left hand.
“Everything went very well,” Gambardella said. “We expect Eric to recover in full over the next two to three months.”
Even though Davis will be a free agent, he will remain under the Dodgers’ care until he signs with another team.

The Dodgers may soon be losing their only left-handed starting pitcher.
Bob Ojeda said he expects to finish this season and then file for free agency before discussing a new commitment with the Dodgers.
“One thing I’ve learned about myself this year is that I have to pitch on a team that’s competitive,” Ojeda said.
This September, he is 0-2 with an 8.25 earned-run average in three starts. For the season, he is 6-8 with a 3.69 ERA.
