WOODLAND HILLS : Health Commission Member Renamed
Pierce College instructor Bernardine Pregerson was reappointed this week to the Los Angeles County Public Health Commission by Supervisor Ed Edelman.
Pregerson, who teachs microbiology at the Woodland Hills campus, initiated a new course at the school last year on sexually transmitted diseases--how they are transmitted and prevented as well as public policies involving them. Edelman praised her for originating the class and said her expertise in the area makes her “more valuable than ever” to the commission.
The health commission gathers information and offers recommendations to the Board of Supervisors on a wide variety of health issues.
