TWA to Move Its Headquarters: Trans World Airlines, now based in Mt. Kisco, N.Y., will move its headquarters to New York City or Missouri under a preliminary agreement with its creditors and unions. According to the agreement, TWA Chairman Carl C. Icahn will surrender his 90% stake in the company. The company’s 28,000 employees will be given a 45% equity stake in the reorganized airline, with the remaining 55% stake reserved for creditors. In return, the unions have agreed in principle to cuts totaling 15% in their wages, benefits and work rules over the next three years. The headquarters will be moved based on whichever location “is most advantageous” to the firm, the agreement says.
