LTV Steel to Close Cleveland Coke Facility: LTV Steel will close a Cleveland Works coke plant by the end of the year. The company said it will cost too much to keep the 40-year-old plant open in the face of stricter environmental rules. Some of the 300 employees at the plant are expected to retire. The rest will be assigned other jobs as they become available, LTV Steel said. LTV Steel makes flat rolled and tubular steel products.
