A Royal Evening: The London Philharmonic Orchestra will play its premiere concert tonight in its new role as the first resident orchestra of the Royal Festival Hall, which is part of London’s South Bank Center. Nicholas Snowman, artistic director of the South Bank, said the relationship is aimed at giving London an orchestra to rival those of Vienna and Berlin.
