Page Moves Nearer to Seat on Minnesota’s High Court
NFL Hall of Famer Alan Page easily won a three-man election Tuesday for one of the seats on the the Minnesota Supreme Court.
The former defensive lineman for the Minnesota Vikings and Chicago Bears will face the second-place finisher in the Nov. 3 general election. If elected, Page would be the first black to hold an elected statewide office in Minnesota. He has been an assistant state attorney general since 1985 and a member of the University of Minnesota Board of Regents since 1989.
Page, who graduated from Notre Dame in 1967 with a degree in political science, earned his law degree from the University of Minnesota in 1979 while still playing pro football.
