SUN VALLEY : Driver, 38, Dies in Fiery Collision
A man burned to death in a fiery car crash early Tuesday morning after speeding through a red light at a Sun Valley intersection, the Los Angeles Police Department said.
Yurik Tadevosian, 38, of Sun Valley ran the stop light at 1:55 a.m. as he drove east on Stagg Street at Vineland Avenue, Officer Robert Robinson said. His truck struck a car traveling north on Vineland, driven by Sherri French, 31, of Sun Valley.
Witnesses told police that Tadevosian’s truck sped through the intersection at speeds up to 90 m.p.h., Robinson said.
After hitting the car, Tadevosian continued east on Stagg and hit a telephone switch box, Robinson said. His pickup truck flew into the air and hit a power pole and then a concrete planter, before bursting into flames.
Tadevosian died at the scene.
