In response to “Rabin: Talking Sense to Israelis,” editorial, Sept. 8:
Recently, there seems to be an attempt to rewrite history concerning the Arab-Israeli conflict of 1967, by indicating that the Arabs started it. Your editorial states Israel gained control of the West Bank not through a war of aggression but in a war of defense. This is a misrepresentation of fact.
Israel boasted openly at the time of its “preemptive attacks,” and although Israelis rationalized their aggression, just as they do their current theft of Arab land, they did not deny starting the war.
