Ex-Husband Charged in Killings
WESTMINSTER — A Huntington Beach man who surrendered to police after allegedly killing his former wife and her boyfriend was charged Monday with two counts of murder.
County prosecutors also charged Gary Ernest Beaudoin, 31, with a special circumstance of multiple murder. If convicted of the special circumstance, Beaudoin would face the gas chamber or life in prison without parole.
Beaudoin, whose arraignment was continued until Sept. 28, did not enter a plea during his appearance in West Orange County Municipal Court in Westminster, said his attorney, John Barnett.
Patricia Beaudoin, 22, and Mark Forshee, 23, sat in a pickup truck on Bolsa Chica Street in Huntington Beach Saturday when they were shot to death by a man armed with a handgun, police said.
About five hours after the fatal shootings, Gary Beaudoin went to Barnett’s office in Santa Ana and turned himself in, police said.
Patricia Beaudoin and her 1-year-old daughter had begun moving into Forshee’s home the day of the shooting, neighbors said.
Police said they are still looking for Gary Beaudoin’s vehicle, which may have been involved in the incident. It is described as a red 1985 Chevrolet Blazer with California license plate number 1NSM379.
Beaudoin is being held without bail in the Orange County Jail.
