COLLEGE ROUNDUP : Leitner Helps UC Irvine Gain 5-1 Soccer Victory

Jaycee Leitner scored three goals and added an assist to help UC Irvine to a 5-1 victory over Whitworth College in a nonconference women’s soccer match Sunday in Spokane, Wash.
Leitner scored twice in the first half as the Anteaters (2-3-1) opened a 3-1 lead.
Carmen Morell and Shawna Berke scored Irvine’s other two goals. Morell also had two assists.
Jenni Tanaka had her 11th career assist for Irvine to move the sophomore into first place on the college’s all-time list.
Irvine dominated the game with 24 shots on goal. Whitworth had only four.
In another nonconference women’s soccer match:
San Francisco State 2, Chapman 0--Christeen Treicy scored in the first half and Jessika Munnell scored in the second for visiting San Francisco State (1-3). Chapman is 1-2.
In the New Mexico men’s soccer tournament:
Cal State Fullerton 3, Drake 2--Tony Jaime scored in the first half and and Eddie Soto and Ken Hesse scored in the second as Fullerton built a 3-0 lead. Drake’s final goal came with about two minutes to play.
