State Budget Problems
According to The Times, California’s budget cuts have undermined the “state’s pledge of help for all.” I wonder if it has occurred to your writers that it was precisely because of the liberal legislators in Sacramento providing generous benefits to everybody in the past that we are having severe fiscal and budgetary problems at the present time.
These liberal benefits acted like a magnet to draw illegal aliens and welfare recipients from other states here to California’s land of plenty.
Now because of the strong leadership of Gov. Pete Wilson, the liberal legislators have been forced to recognize the severity of the problem they have caused and finally have made responsible decisions to reduce payments for welfare. Hopefully these legislators will act responsibly in the future to keep our fiscal house in order.
