Sheriff’s Department Phone
Residents in the 213 area code now have their own telephone number for non-emergency calls to the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department’s station in West Hollywood.
The number is 650-4142.
City officials and Pacific Bell worked out the arrangement after the 310 area code west of La Cienega Boulevard split the city in May. Officials were concerned that callers in the 213 half might overwork the emergency system by calling 911 rather than dialing 1 and (310) 855-8850 to reach the West Hollywood station house.
